2010 Local Government Community Plan Conference

26-27 August, Hyatt Regency Hotel, Auckland

This annual conference brings together local government managers and staff involved in the direction setting and community planning processes.

Programme highlights for this year include:

  • Tracey Hunt from Manawatu District Council will help you get ready for the next LTP.
  • Christine Jones from Tauranga City Council focuses on the financial strategy and how this fits with the long-term plan.
  • Porirua City Council representatives talk about their NZ Post Local Government Excellence Award winning project: “The Villages Planning Programme”. Hear how this council planned and managed partnerships with their communities, where the communities developed visions for their neighbourhoods and made them happen.

Networking Opportunities:

  • Morning and Afternoon Teas and Lunch Breaks provide opportuntities to discuss issues as they come up.
  • The happy hour provides an opportunity for those who have commitments on the Thursday evening to have a quick refreshment with colleagues.
  • The conference dinner gives you all night, to talk all things community plan.
